On Monday, I had the best Dr. appointment ever. It started with his first comment to me which was "your scan looks great"! WOW Somehow, not what I expected to hear. What glorious news!
The scan I had last week revealed that the combination of Xeloda (pill form chemo) and Avastin (drip) is working to nail those suckers in my liver. In all, there was a significant decrease in size in ALL of the spots in my liver, and also decreases in the lymph nodes in my chest and neck. Some liver sites saw a 40% shrinkage over my last scan in January.
WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO PARTY TIME!
It was the best news, the best day, providing me with real hope for longevity, and in buying that time, hope for more research for ways to sustain and maybe someday cure those of us with metastatic breast cancer.
So I am on cloud nine. Life is ever so good. Martha graduates from COLLEGE on Sunday, Elliott is happy and making music and starting at PSU in the fall (transfer), Dave loves his job, Martha HAS a job, I love my jobs - LIFE IS SO GOOD. AND it's almost summer. What more can I ask for? My gratefulness for the bounty is boundless.
Dana I'm blubbering. I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm doing a virtual happy dance.. and I'll do a real one when I get off my can and out from under the computer. See you Soon! for a real hug!
